The Yamaha EF3000iSE comes with some really nice features. for starters, it’s very powerful. We’ve seen customers use it to power an AC unit, lights, a TV, DVD player, and more all at the same time. But don’t be fooled by the power, this inverter generator is still very fuel efficient. It uses a 171cc Overhead Valve (OHV) engine, which provides noise-reducing operation, improved efficiency, increased reliability, and low oil consumption.

The Briggs & Stratton 30473 is a really popular inverter generator that ranks amongst the best for the money. It may not be as quiet as a Honda or Yamaha, and might be a little larger in size, but it’s also about half the cost. This is probably one of, if not the best unit we have seen, and very good for the average homeowner/casual user who isn’t looking too spend much money.

Most complaints were minor, like the sound being louder than on Honda’s and Yamaha’s (but not by a huge margin). The biggest complaint we saw was in regards to the published specs on wattage and amperage, with some saying those figures were questionable. One gentleman complained it would not run either of his 11 amp circular saws and barely ran a 9 amp miter saw. Another stated it would put out 1400 watts & about 12 to 13 amps at start, and less than that continuously, but not the 2000 watts advertized. We cannot confirm this nor did we see anyone else bring up those issues. We saw customers perform tests with a 250watt light (2.1amps), 4.8amp drill, and a 4.5amp jig saw for a total of 11.4amps, and those all ran fine, as well as a separate test using an 800 watt camper microwave which also ran fine.

Despite a few complaints, an overwhelming number of reviews and customer comments were positive, so we definitely recommend this inverter generator.
